Qatar has said it reserves the right to respond directly and in accordance with international law after Iran targeted the al Udeid U.S. military base in Doha in response to U.S. attacks on its nuclear facilities over the weekend.
A spokesperson for the Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs foreign ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said that Qatari air defenses “thwarted the attack and successfully intercepted the Iranian missiles.”
"We affirm that the State of Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner proportional to the nature and scale of this blatant aggression," the diplomat said.
The spokesperson confirmed that the U.S. base had been evacuated as a precaution ahead of the attack.
